Performance Evaluation

As an athlete you will want your planning to be supported by a good base. With state-of-the-art equipment and advanced procedures, we provide you with the evaluation you need to take advantage of your training.

Evaluation for personalized planning

In a metabolic and sports performance evaluation, the process is similar to that of an ergospirometry stress test but 100% oriented to improve training and performance in the sports discipline evaluated. The applied protocols are completely aimed at finding the physiological variables associated with the athlete’s performance and at analyzing how their metabolism evolves at different intensities of effort.

After measuring the athlete’s body composition, ergospirometry and/or blood lactate measurement is performed during exercise. The exchange of gases (Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide) produced during breathing in an incremental protocol or constant loads is recorded, and the physiological variables that determine performance in endurance sports are extracted, in addition to the associated energy expenditure. From this, a detailed report is developed that will allow the athlete, his coach and/or his nutritionist to know his limitations and qualities to guide his training plan towards specific objectives.

The Reports Detail:

  • Body Composition
  • Physiological variables: Maximum Oxygen Consumption (VO2max), Maximum Aerobic Power or Velocity (MAP/MAV), Ventilatory Thresholds and Energy Efficiency.
  • Training zones by pace/power, heart rate and perceived exertion.
  • Individual Physiological Profile (AIYM)
  • Resting energy expenditure and energy consumption by training zone (Only in lactate and combined metabolic tests)
  • Report of the evolution of the lactate curve and greater precision in the training zones (Only in the tests with lactate and combined)

Performance Evaluation

Lactate test / Lactatemia

It is very useful to analyze the evolution of the training zones during the season or even to confirm the lactate stability at a certain intensity, for example, that of a target competition.

Cycling, Running or Swimming

Sports Ergospirometry

It is the appropriate one to know the physiological characteristics of the athlete (VO2max, MAP/VAM, ventilatory thresholds and energy efficiency), training zones and the level of performance at a specific moment of the season.

Cycling or Running

Metabolic Sports

Provides all the information of sports ergospirometry with greater precision. Energy consumption at rest and during exercise is also evaluated, so that you can prepare your nutritional plan in your day to day and in the objective competition

Cycling or Running

Combined Metabolic

This test provides all the information provided by sports metabolism, and also evaluates both the ability of the athlete to sustain the intensity of the competition, as well as the nutritional needs during the race.

Cycling + Running

Endurance Sports Performance Assessments

Measure your progress and set realistic and achievable goals. Through these evaluations you will be able to identify your strengths and weaknesses, which will allow you to design a training plan adapted to your needs and objectives.

1. Maximum oxygen consumption

Maximum capacity of the organism to absorb, transport and consume oxygen per unit of time. Determinant in Sprint Triathlon or races from 5 to 10km.

2. Speed / Maximum aerobic power

Speed or power associated with or occurring at maximum oxygen uptake. Determinant in Sprint Triathlon or races from 5 to 10km.

3. Efficiency

Energy expenditure or economy measured at a certain speed or power. Determinant in medium and long distance Triathlon, Marathon or Ultras.

4. Second threshold (Zone 4)

Intensity from which most of the energy will come from glycogen and lactate will increase in an unstable way. Determinant in Olympic Triathlon and races from 10 to 21km.

5. First threshold (Zone 2)

Intensity from which the amount of glycogen consumed will begin to be important and lactate will increase stably. Determinant in medium and long distance Triathlon and Marathon.
